The first three seasons of the Japanese manga and anime series Mushoku Tensei: Life, Deaths, & Resurrection are already available for digital streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, HBO Max, and other platforms. It will continue with its popular content while delivering more anime-centric quality.
The new season's premier will take place in December 2023, which means that it has been delayed a few times. Even though this won't affect your viewing time, it might disappoint you because you prefer watching on DVD or VOD. Because there are so many interesting things about these two parts, let's talk about one important thing at least!
The job creation system introduced by Hiroto Miyazaki (writer, director, producer) made people think about how much they can do in life, but sometimes their dream jobs just don't look like something that could help them achieve their goals. To support the idea of "what if I only did this one dream job", he suggested creating a reality based job system that has no limits and which everyone would want to spend all his/her life working on.
The goal is not to make money. What the characters have been doing for most part of the show is doing what has always made them happy. For example, Kazuki has a stable job as an auto mechanic for a major car company, so he has no regrets about that job. But he is also a good singer. And a musician too. A lot of people who used to be musicians think of him as someone very passionate about music. By the way, here are some songs from his collection that he wants to share with fans.
After several years, the world of Ochanagi no Morioka suddenly comes crashing down. This new job opportunity is completely out of reach. They have no money for it. As such, everyone is looking for work, especially young students working for university tutors in the middle of nowhere. Meanwhile, Mr. Hishibito is the head of Japan's largest student recruitment firm. He is looking for interns as well if you will.
A large number of candidates are seeking him out for a position in his office in Tokyo for a year and a half. After all the applicants have reached the desired age, he invites a small group of interns for screening. When the process ends, he finds eight candidates willing to accept. Most of the candidates who go through all these tests belong to high school students. There are some older ones as well, but they are quite unprofessional and irresponsible. One of the four girls who passed the preliminary stage is Mizumi. She may seem a little bit arrogant at first glance, but she has great potential, and the person responsible for her future is a talented man. He encourages Mizumi to study hard.
The whole program starts after having paid for all the required examinations, and by the end, Mizumi will get the chance to apply to become the next intern of his company. Her main task is to gather information about our protagonist, Nagatomo and his career so that he can better understand what kind of company we should go for so that he can choose when will we see each other again. However, she didn't succeed in finding anything that she would like to work for.
She has no experience in sales, marketing, and business. Unfortunately, she becomes obsessed with a girl named Riko and thinks he loves her. She doesn't take much notice of Nagatomo and never asks herself why he is attracted to her. But when the day came for Riko to meet up with Nagatomo again, she sees a photo of him on social media. Then she discovers that he had fallen into depression for a while and was worried about losing himself of his self-love. Once Nagatomo saw his picture again, he realizes how serious he is about getting back together with Mizumi. He is scared now, but he still decides to keep trying to love her.
And so starts another complicated relationship between Mizumi and Nagatomo. This time, even after the failed attempts, Nagatomo finally gets over Mizumi. Even though this time, Mizumi feels a sense of belonging, her feelings for Nagatomo were strong enough to allow him to be with her. His life, once full of regret, now has a very different meaning.
When Nagatomo receives notice from the recruiters about his job interview, he feels absolutely hopeless. But now he is eager to fulfil his destiny and save Mizumi. So he does everything he can to earn this chance. In front of other volunteers, a huge crowd forms. At first, they just look at him with wonder. But then, they start to wonder who he is and what kind of problem lies within. And so he tries to find out from those around him who Nagatomo really is, with whom he truly belongs.
To further complicate matters, Nagatomo falls in love with Riko in the same way Mizumi fell in love with Nagatomo during the last stage of the test. The truth will have to be revealed at the actual interviews. Now it seems impossible to escape without being found out. Nagatomo thinks that if someone ever confronts him in front of others, it must be Mizumi. That, he has been holding in so tightly for a long time, makes Nagatomo reconsider his entire life and makes him feel useless. Nagatomo goes to Mizumi's home and makes her watch him kiss Riko. Mizumi is shocked. Nagatomo is in such pain that he eventually stops telling anyone about Riko, except Nagato and Mizumi who they both hate the most at the moment. Finally, Mizumi goes to Nagatomo's room and confronts him, asking him if really he loves Mizumi.
Nagato thinks that she is going to turn Mizumi into a nun just for his sake. Nagato's face turns red. He tells Mizumi to bring him back to the train station so that if he wants, Mizumi can take care of him. Mizumi is furious at Nagatomo. With all the pressure of the whole situation, he finally lets go of his emotions and follows along with Nagatomo. And then Mizumi gets a letter from Nagatomo telling Mizumi not to worry and he is waiting for her.
But Nagatomo still feels uneasy, and he visits Mizumi's house a few more times over the weekend before saying goodbye to Mizumi for the final time. His heart can no longer contain a certain kind of pain, and as soon as he leaves, Nagatomo walks Mizumi away. Nagatomo knows that if Mizumi is safe, so will he be safe too. Mizumi says that Nagatomo is going to visit Mizumi so that Mizumi can meet Nagate. Nagatomo does the right thing, and Mizumi comes back to Nagatomo. Nagatomo returns Mizumi to Nagatomo and tells him that he's ready to marry Mizumi, and this will happen tomorrow. Nagatomo takes Mizumi to Nagantaro, and Mizumi is happy. She is excited for Nagatomo, who is getting married to her. Nagati comes to Mizumi's room and kisses Mizumi on the lips. Nagami asks Mizumi what she wanted from Nagatorou so that she understands exactly what a big deal the wedding will be. Mizumi tells Nagatomo that she likes Nihari. Nagati takes Mizumi to the airport and flies off to Nagamotchi. Nagamotchi will be the best place where Mizumi can return the happiest for her.
When Nagatomo arrives at Nagamotchi, Nagatomo is greeted by Mizumi. Everyone looks at Nagatoro to know what happened to Beiji and Nagatomo in the meeting. They look at Mizumi to know what happened to her and how badly she wanted to marry Nagatomo. Nagatomo welcomes Mizumi, saying, "Mizumi is a sweetie and a beautiful friend. We'll never leave each other." This is the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Nagamotchi. Nagatomo is the president of the club who was once known by the name Nezawa. Many men want to marry Mizumi. Nagatoro's family and friends don't want to forget her. Nagatomo's father is worried about the marriage. In addition, Nagatomo's sister is pregnant so Nagatomo will need to raise the baby on his own. Since Nagatoro can't marry Mizumi until his father gives permission, Nagatoro can get married to Mizumi and Mizumi agrees to help Nagatoro with the child.
Mizumi is happy and cheerful. And Nagate, she says, "Let's make it official!" And then, Nagatomo and Mizumi start the ceremony. On Nagatomo's way to the bride registry, Nagatomo notices three boxes containing a box with white paper inside. Each square contains a piece of paper written in both English and Japanese in order to prove that the groom is going to marry Mizumi without hesitation. Nagatomo writes the note to Mizumi; Nagatomo explains that due to the circumstances of the occasion, Mizumi cannot write it himself. Nagatomo tells Mizumi what the priest told him in the previous meeting so Nagatomo wants nothing but to sign Mizumi's certificate after marrying Mizumi. Nagatomo grabs Mizumi.
